Hybrid lawn Care Programs
Coastal Care has been in business since 1998 however we have been in the green industry since
1981 and over the years of working in the industry and studying new products and services found that
Hybrid programs for lawns are the best of both worlds. We feel that over time the lawn program we
Provide can become completely organic with time and patience on the part of the homeowner.
We are an environmentally aware lawn care company that has been practicing limited use of pesticides
For years, only applying pesticide when they were needed or the homeowner requested them.
Improvements in organic insect controls are very promising however weeds are a different matter.
It has been impossible to effectively control weeds using organic products. Crabgrass organics are
unheard of as far as we can tell. Weed control remains the one hurdle for organic programs to succeed.
The good news is in the fertilizer. Many products that contain organic materials are very effective and
A wide variety of choice is out there however they can be messy to work with. Cross over products
Work best in our opinion due to the fact they are easy to work with and provide more nutrients.
Soil improvement products are very effective and we plan to use them in the future as part of our plan.
Fungus is not a problem if cultural practices are followed and diseases are hardly ever fatal to lawns.
Fungus controls contain heavy metals and are not very effective.
Hybrid Flea/Tick/Mosquito programs
Organic Flea/Tick/and Mosquito control was introduced by Coastal Care to help people with Lyme
Disease Eastern Equine Epiphysis and West Nile Disease that spread diseases during the growing season.
We now have better products that do not harm bees and other pollinators. We continue to
lower the populations of insects and over time we can achieve a great deal of control but cannot
eliminate of all insects. It is not advisable due to beneficial insects. If insects are a problem, we can
use safe pesticides to rapidly lower insect populations while not causing harm to pollinators. We are
going to transition to an organic/ hybrid program for all our insect treatments this year. The one
problem with organic insect control is they do not last long and need to be applied more often. We
are going to add another treatment to our program to solve the problem.
We look forward to providing great products and services for all your lawn and landscape needs.
